Sheri Avila on has a love for horses and helping them achieve their full potential. When it comes to favorites, she said it’s a coins toss on which she enjoys most, Western Pleasure or Hunter Under Saddle. When you look at her credits it shows she’s right, as she has produced numerous Western Pleasure Futurity Champions, Reserves and AQHA Superiors as well as multiple Hunter Under Saddle Futurity Champions, Reserves and AQHA Superiors. She has also achieved several AQHA Superiors in Halter and is a NSBA Champion. What’s more, Sheri has qualified several horses for the AQHA World Show.

When it comes to helping amateurs Sheri really enjoys working with them, especially when they are going for the All Arounds. “It’s great watching them put everything into the show and the glow on their faces when they win”.  “It’s really about team work,” says Sheri, “You know your have the rider, the horse and the trainer and we all have to make it happen together.”

Speaking of making it happen, that is what Don Avila and Sheri have been doing. They really enjoy working together as a team to produce AQHA Championships. “It’s one thing to look at a horse and say yes, it has potential, but it is another thing to train that horse, so that he shows his potential, and that is what it’s all about.” “Don and I work together to bring out the heart of the horse.”  “I love my work.  It’s a great way of life.”

Sheri has other interests too as she breeds and sells quality Quarters Horses; she also raises Registered Miniature Australian Shepherds. “ These mini Aussies are a kick” “They have such great personalities” .
