Don Avila
THANKS FOR THE LESSONS...

Don Avila was the founder and soul of Dee Bar Farms.
He dedicated his life to horses, training and riding. It is with a sad and heavy heart that we had to say goodbye to Don on August 26, 2013.
He was my mentor, my biggest supporter, my idol, and the most talented horseman ever. In his 82 years, he touched so many lives. I was lucky enough to spend everyday with him working side by side at the barn training horses together.

We had a special bond built on respect, admiration, and love. We worked well as a family, all of us together: Don, Mom, Ronnie, and myself. We have built so many memories and I feel so blessed and lucky to have had him in my life.
Life won't be the same without him, he was such a big part of every day and will hold a special place in my heart, always. He took such good care of all of us and I will miss him so much. I know he is riding Docs Dee Bar now and watching over us.
The Master, my hero. . . I will love you forever.
